We’re working with Ontario to make it easier and more affordable to build more homes.
Development charges — municipal fees tied to roads, water, and infrastructure — are often built into the cost of a home and can delay or prevent housing projects from moving forward.
Today, our new government and the Government of Ontario are cutting those charges by up to 50%.
At the same time, we’re removing the HST on new homes in Ontario up to $1M and continuing to work collaboratively on major transit projects that connect Ontarians to where they live, work, and build their lives.
Less red tape, more new homes and transit. It's simple.
