it’s official - @modal just announced our $355m series C at a $4.65b valuation 🚀 i only joined in january, so mostly i just feel humbled and grateful to work alongside some of the smartest, kindest people i’ve encountered in my career. two quotes have really stuck with me over the last few months: 1. “we’re not afraid of hard problems.” this company is singularly focused on building the best cloud platform for AI. we built our own runtime, scheduler, filesystem, and orchestration layer from scratch. we contribute to FlashAttention, vLLM, SGLang, and more. we build agentic systems to streamline GTM, Support, and Ops. we don’t wait around for someone else to solve a problem. if building something unlocks value for our customers, we build it. 2. “what if we’re not growing fast enough?” we have a fraction of the headcount you’d find at another company with similar ambition. our tens of thousands of GPUs are still a drop in the ocean compared to the compute operated by the major labs and hyperscalers. and in infrastructure, scale isn’t optional. it feels insane to say, but 5x revenue growth since September might not be sufficient for escape velocity. so if you’re excited by hard problems and want to jump onto a rocket ship - we’re hiring :)
