Hey teachers! 👋🏾 Friendly reminder that your Black, Brown and students of color don’t need you as a savior to save them. This is a harmful train of thought and is rooted in racism. Equity isn’t swooping in and trying to rescue students. Equity is interrupting systemic racism.

Humanizing mathematics also means abolishing grading, timed tests, standardized tests, performance/status goals linked only to careers, redefining what it means to be a mathematician--"mistake-maker, dream-catcher, etc." This word cannot be used lightly or casually.
