Excited to share something I’ve been working on I’ve just released EfCoreKit, a .NET library designed to eliminate repetitive boilerplate in EF Core so you can focus on what really matters: building features. As developers, we often rewrite the same things in every project: pagination, soft deletes, audit tracking, repositories, and more. It gets tiring and slows us down. With EfCoreKit, you install the package, call a method, and all of that is handled for you. What you get out of the box: ♻️ Soft Delete with global query filters ♻️ Audit Trail (CreatedAt, UpdatedAt, etc.) ♻️ Pagination (offset & keyset) ♻️ Repository & Unit of Work ♻️ Specification Pattern ♻️ Dynamic Filters ♻️ Query Helpers & DbContext utilities Design goals: No lock-in works with standard EF Core Fully opt-in features Clean, maintainable architecture No more rewriting the same pagination logic or plumbing code again and again. Install: dotnet add package EfCoreKit GitHub Repo: github.com/Clifftech123/E… If you’re working with .NET and EF Core, give it a try and let me know what you think! #dotnet #efcore #csharp #softwaredevelopment #opensource #webdevelopment @ @dotentoday1 @AccraDotnet @dotnetfdn @dotne

Theory Still Matters in Software Engineering (More Than You Think) You’ve probably heard this before: “Forget theory. Just build. Just practice.” But here’s the truth no one tells you… What exactly should you practice? Most content online tells you to focus on implementation, but very few explain the *concepts behind what you're building. And that’s the problem. Theory matters. In fact, it matters more than ever. Because you can’t truly implement what you don’t understand. Today, writing code is easier than ever. AI tools, frameworks, and libraries have made development faster. But here’s what separates average developers from exceptional ones: Understanding how things work behind the scenes. Why does this approach work? What’s happening in memory? Why choose this design over another? These are the questions that elevate you. Everything we use frameworks today, tools, systems came from deep understanding and research, not just trial and error. And honestly, it’s worrying… I recently asked someone the difference between stack and heap, and they didn’t know. That’s not just a gap. That’s a foundation issue. In 2026, knowing how to code is no longer enough. The real skill is: Understanding core concepts Making the right technical decisions Thinking beyond just “it works.” Theory is what gives your code meaning. So don’t just jump into implementation. Learn the concepts. Understand the fundamentals. Then build. That’s how you become a truly great software engineer.

You’re Missing Out If You’re Not Using Microsoft .NET Aspire If you’re not using Microsoft .NET Aspire yet, you’re missing out on a better development experience. First, Aspire isn't just for .NET developers. It’s a code-first tool that helps you build, run, debug, and deploy distributed applications easily. Think about your app: APIs, databases, queues, caches, frontends… In production, everything works together. But in development, it’s usually messy, with multiple terminals, manual setup, and hard debugging. Aspire solves that. You define everything in one place (AppHost), run it with one command, and monitor everything from a single dashboard. And the best part: You’re not limited to C#. You can use: C# TypeScript Python Even if you’re working with Node.js, React, or Python, you can still use Aspire. No more complex Dockerfiles. No more complicated YAML configs. Just a simple, clean, code-first setup. If you’re building modern apps, you should definitely try it. @aspiredotdev @dotnet

Brothers and sisters, let me tell you this: Africa is not poor, and Africa can never be poor. What has held us back is not poverty, but a system built long ago to keep us enslaved, a system that still lingers today. We were given false information. We were told lies that made us lose our identity. And because of that, many of us no longer believe in ourselves or in Africa. That is the true tragedy. The problem is not that Africans are poor. The problem is the system that restricts our development. Too often, education strips us of our identity instead of strengthening it. Many of our youth, even those who have gone to school, no longer believe there is anything good in their country. Meanwhile, those who have not gone through that system sometimes thrive, because they remain true to themselves. The issue is not leadership alone, but the system that produces the leaders. Our current leaders cannot transform Africa because they were shaped by the very system that hinders progress. How can Africa be called poor when we are rich in culture, rich in language, rich in spirit? Yet our culture has been demonized. Our languages have been silenced. People are punished for speaking their own tongue. And so, we begin to compare ourselves to others, asking questions that only reinforce the false idea that Africa is poor. But I say to you today: Africa is rich. Africa is powerful. The moment you understand this truth, you will see that you can live well, prosper, and thrive right here in Africa. Do not let the system define you. Do not let the lies enslave you. Africa has everything it needs, and the moment we reclaim our identity, we will rise.

Extracting data from Excel and JSON in .NET can sometimes be challenging. Often, all you need is a paid service, which can be frustrating. To address this, I developed Uno, an open-source .NET library that simplifies data extraction from various formats. This library allows you to easily extract typed data from Excel, CSV, PDF, JSON, and XML in C#. github.com/Clifftech123/u…

The developers who win with AI are the ones who understand the language deeply enough to know when AI is wrong.
