God of the living, those in heaven with God forever are fully alive, more than us on earth. Their prayers and intercessions to Jesus on our behalf are mighty. To forfeit this blessing from God through His body (the church triumphant) is such a waste of Gods normative means of bestowing grace on us.

Because confession to God through a priest is a sacrament instituted by Christ for a reason. It is an outward sign that conveys real, invisible grace, using the physical means He chose. The penitential act at Mass expresses sorrow and prepares our hearts, but the sacrament of confession is the ordinary way Christ gave us to receive forgiveness of sins and be fully reconciled to Him. It’s not just a practice, it’s a gift He established for our healing.

Never met a protestant who "seethes" at the mention of Mary. What we're seething at is a false, deceptive church that worships her, prays to her, and centers entire salvific dogmas on whether a person believes she was sinless, forever a virgin, and bodily assumed into heaven.
