@CowabungaLLC

Here’s a personal journal of what I hear from clients as a Financial Advisor working out of a bank branch. Enjoy.

@Markus7Red @Liam_Holman99 Doesn’t matter. One person making 750k pays more in taxes in a year than many will pay in a lifetime. Government services rely on these people But go ahead and tell me how many make that in the UK. I need a laugh

@CowabungaLLC @Liam_Holman99 Okay well first of all, very few janitors actually work for the company they serve, they’re typically outsourced. Secondly, I guess you’ll have to just raise the janitors wages if you wanna keep a high salary. If you can’t/won’t, that’s just tough 🤷🏼

@Markus7Red @Liam_Holman99 Let’s say you’re a successful salesperson for your firm. You make £750k/y. Meanwhile, the janitor makes £35k. Over night, your pay would go from 750k to 350k. What happens to your tax bill at the end of the year?

@Liam_Holman99 Why do you assume the pay ratio would cause a tax loss? I’d be willing to bet most CEO’s would prefer raising their employees wages than personally taking a pay cut (which is the point of the policy).

@redelitist Just find it so funny that Madison County, Mississippi does better than 99% of UK communities. Including the some of the most affluent areas in the entire country

I don’t believe that the real discussion should be about the average Brit vs the average American (American wins by a wide margin) The real discussion should be about the Top 10% earners in each country Top 10% income in US = ~$250k+ Top 10% income in UK =~£70k+ ($90k+ USD)

There is broad consensus that GDP per capita, whilst a decent measure of average income, is a poor indicator of day-to-day living standards and quality of life. This is not copium, it is just economic literacy. Which obviously is alien to the MAGA cult.

@redelitist Your “affluent British community” brings in less than: Rankin, Madison, Warren, Lamar, Pearl River, Hancock, Harrison, Jackson, Stone, Webster, Itawamba, Lee, Union, Lafayette, Tate, and Desoto counties Holy poverty
