The problem with the water industry is it was never allowed to be run privately. Ofwat determined price controls and therefore biased company decisions against long-term investment - which (although significantly higher than in the nationalised era) was still insufficient to fix leaks. The regulator prioritised cheaper water over modernising infrastructure. This was a *state* decision, not a private one. If you want a less leaky system and less discharge into rivers, then you have to admit that the regulator made our water too cheap for too long.

Meet Gemma Mattinson, one of the organisers of the "Pink Ladies." She claims she wants to protect women and girls.
In 2011, she and her then boyfriend, Ian Barclay, were jailed for child cruelty after being filmed forcing two children, both under the age of 8, to physically fight each other while they laughed.
A young girl was ordered to hit a boy with a broom and plastic sticks. When the boy tried to hide, he was dragged across the floor and slammed into a radiator.
They both pled guilty.
She was sentenced to 8 months in prison, and her ex received a 12-month sentence.
Now, she has rebranded herself and is targeting asylum seekers staying in hotels.
