Our evaluation of #schools converting to #cleancooking comprises #airpolllution monitoring of school kitchens, catering staff and learners. Students in #Rwanda are eager to wear our measuring equipment and to learn about the health damaging effects of kitchen smoke.

CLEAN-Air Africa has now trained 2,500 instructors across Kenya. These instructors will go on to train 120,000 CHWs, with the aim of reaching Kenya’s entire population.

On May 8th 2024, #Tanzania launched its National Clean Cooking Energy Strategy. With a massive TZS 4.6 trillion investment, it targets to reach 80% adoption of #cleancooking energy from 10% today for households by 2034. Schools, colleges, and prisons will also be converted. #SDG7

The @CLEANAirAfrica @RBCRwanda team continues its fieldwork assessing the #airpollution impacts of #biomass cooking in Rwandan #schools. Students, cooks and staff are exposed every day to smoke, with #health damaging levels measured inside and in proximity of the kitchen.
