a parallel story here is that agents increasingly become sync engines sunilpai.dev/posts/local-fi… it won't completely remove the need to make api calls, but you can imagine services will start pushing data to interested parties, all day long
alec@alec_gard

@threepointone great post! how much do you think 'inhabit the state machine' becomes 'call a bunch of APIs' once you leave a demo environment and are interacting with real systems with state spread across dozens of services?

Check out the new @tan_stack skills registry. It's like `npx skills add` but actually uses a package manager. So your skills actually track your dependencies as they evolve.

Introducing the @Tan_Stack Intent Skills Registry Intent may use NPM as it's *distribution* registry (awesome), but finding/browsing skills in a sea of NPM modules definitely deserves it's own UI/service - Mirrored from NPM - Package/Skill Search - History/Changelogs Coming soon: - API/CLI for search/lookup - Cross discovery for non-intent skills 🔗⬇️🧵

I know I haven't been tweeting a lot about Hazel lately but I have been quietly cooking 👀 Currently redesigning some of the BotSDK with durable streams from the @ElectricSQL team to make it even easier and more reliable to build custom bots in Hazel Desktop App first stable release is coming very soon Mobile App is not far off And lastly the first stable 1.0 release of Hazel will be coming very very soon with a build in two way sync for all your Slack Channels and Users to make migrations super easy. So excited to finally ship all of it soon

@IamSandeshSoni For offline first you'll also need a solution to sync the local writes back, ElectricSQL gives you only one sync direction as of now

Exploring if @ElectricSQL is a fit for mobile applications. How does this sync engine work... The examples are more of web app, not the react native mobile apps. researching...

4/ The irony: the tools that unlock this are boring. Tests, specs, documented decisions. Engineering best practices from decades ago. What's new is the ROI — when agents can act autonomously on every encoded decision, the payoff for writing that test is 10x what it used to be.

1/ A law from computer science — published in 1967 — explains why some teams get 10x from AI agents and others plateau at 2x. It has nothing to do with Codex vs. Claude.

1/ AI makes code cheap. The scarce asset is now the system's self-knowledge. Specs and contracts were always valuable—but too expensive to maintain. So we invested sparingly, specs drifted, and we read the code instead. That calculus has flipped with coding agents.
