Serverless agents with stateless logic. Durability in the data layer. Tool execution in backend systems. That's how to build managed agents: electric.ax/blog/2026/06/0…

Three weeks ago PGlite crossed 10 million weekly downloads. Today it just crossed 11 million! It grew 10% in three weeks 🤯

Coding agents now handle the manual coding. This means software engineering is shifting upstream - from writing code to orchestrating systems, defining intent, and making product decisions. On the latest episode of The Merge, @ElectricSQL co-founder @thruflo explains why we’re all becoming product managers now… and why managing state for multi-agent systems is the next big infrastructure challenge. We also cover: • Why declarative sync is replacing traditional fetch patterns • How to build reliable multi-agent workflows • The surprising rise of Elixir for agent systems Full episode here ↓

🚀 New @DurableStreams rust release is out! Comes with brand-new per-core epoll engine for live-tail SSE and memory improvements Flat p99 latency, lower memory footprint per subscriber; increased write throughput. Checkout the number👇

I've been writing a @DurableStreams server in Rust to see how fast it can be. It reaches nearly a million appends per second on a single 4 vCPU box — an order of magnitude faster than current reference server 🧵

Rewrite it in Rust... It helps, but really it's about architecture, using sys calls to stay in the kernel layer, and knowing to use patterns like batched flushes to a WAL. Our @DurableStreams server now does 1M appends/second! Awesome work by @balegas 🎉🚀

Agents need a durable, replayable stream of state — fast enough to sit in the hot path. Durable Streams is that primitive: an append-only event log made low-latency with wire-format storage and a WAL. Our Rust server hits ~1M appends/sec on 4 vCPUs 📷

PGlite is now downloaded 10 million times a week from npm! I'm so chuffed to see this milestone. Whats even more crazy is that this is higher than any single other embeded database on npm. More than SQLite! Huge thanks to Tudor, Paul and everyone who has contributed to PGlite 🫶

PGlite has passed 10 million weekly npm downloads 🤯 On our blog we spills the beans on what’s driving the growth, and how its used for AI apps, dev tools, sandboxes, CLIs, and test suites from incredible teams like @Prisma, @supabase, @Firebase, @Netlify and @awscloud. 🔗🧵

Also in 0.25.0: Durability now runs on Postgres and PGlite alongside SQLite. A built in smithers migrate command will make this change seemless The above change enabled us to add @ElectricSQL and @tan_stack DB to Smithers UI for real time multiplayer updates. I am excited to show off the UI we are building on top of this!

I've forked Postgres so it doesn't fork 🤯 I’m experimenting with backends that can run as processes, pinned threads, or pooled carriers. The goal is massively scalable connections, no external pooler. Experimental, but it works! 🔗🧵

Entire app built on @ElectricSQL and PGLite. Custom cache + render layer on top so UI feels near-instant. We're also building our own rich text editor: schema + delta based, no deps apart from Yjs. The win is making the CRDT the source of truth instead of the DOM. Lets us deliver a Cursor-like experience where always-on server-side agents can collaborate directly on the document state, while keeping every editor and the app in sync. Powerful for collaborative inboxes. Planning to share it more widely in 1-2 months. WIP → github.com/lemni/pen So mostly just local-first tech for now. But would absolutely love to have a local-only mode down the line.

Agents collaborating together in realtime is the kind of experience you expect every agents platform to offer at some point but today you have to craft it yourself. @ElectricSQL agents is built on sync, which makes it the default.
Sam Willis@samwillis

Realtime audio + collaborative Yjs editing + multiple agents working together in one live document 🤯 This is the kind of agent UX that only works when sync, durability, and coordination are built in from the start. Built with @ElectricSQL Agents 🚀🎉 🔊on

@matthewfurnari @ElectricSQL The agent state, history, its text generation, tool calls, etc. are all stored in the log. Which means that the agent is the log. When a process connects to the log to run, it reads in the log and then appends new events to it
