Radko Gudas is not taking warmup in Edmonton and won’t play against the Oilers.  Here is video of the injury he suffered Thursday in Calgary. He was seen in a walking boot today.  The Ducks’ next game is Monday at home against Toronto, and there is an intense spotlight on this game because of what happened last time these two teams played. Anaheim travels home after today’s game, and Gudas is to undergo further testing tomorrow. I have no doubt Gudas’s desire is to play. But we’re going to see what the doctors say.

I get that you don't like the format but your complaint is ridiculous. The division winner *should* be rewarded - and is rewarded in most other sport playoffs. See: 8-9 Panthers hosting 12-5 Rams in 2026 NFL playoffs. Not only that but in previous 1-8 NHL format this happened routinely. 2012: (3) FLA 94 pts hosts (6!) NJD 102 pts 2008: (3) WSH 96 pts had same # pts as 6th, 7th and 8th seeds 2010 and 2011: 4th seed had more pts than 3rd seed. Best I can find, 2009 was the only year in that salary cap era playoff format (2005-2013) that seeds 1-8 and division winners were perfectly ordered by points. That was the lone exception.

Something not being talked about enough. Increasingly likely the Utah Mammoth finish fourth in the division, crossover to play a **Pacific Division winner** who finished BEHIND them in the standings. On the road. Fix this ridiculous format.

The Senators behind the scenes had been lobbying the NHL for quite a while on the forfeited 1st RD pick and as the league said in the statement what got traction was that the Dadonov screw-up happened under former ownership and former management. The more the league thought about it, the more that hit home. A $1M fine is not nothing, but the Sens for sure are satisfied with this result, getting the 32nd overall pick, and happy to put it behind them and move forward.
