@COYSpurs2023 all we are saying is surely there should be a reward /sacrifice for what you actually achieve on the field ,to me it just gives the big 6 more and more room to fail and just spend their way back up the league, u talk about building revenue but how are clubs supposed to catch up

So many bitter Villa & Newcastle fans piping up about Spurs being able to sign players after finishing 17th and the whole PSR argument. Clearly don’t understand what PSR is and how good Spurs have been creating revenue streams, to be able to spend. Educate yourselves!!!

So after 21 years with @skytv I have finally left because they don’t reward loyalty and wanted to charge me a small fortune. Changed to @virginmedia not only got more for a lot less, they seem light years ahead with their technology and system.

1/ Americans think 'aesthetic' = big and expensive, shiny. I want to use Villa Park as an example of what we mean. The brickwork here, when the stadium was expanded, they rebuilt the original facade, including stained glass windows and awnings to capture the original 1925 build

@MTVilla1983 Martinez is 33. Brad Friedel was still an outstanding goalkeeper for us at 39. If he stays he could have that longevity.

This. Emi Martinez WAS itching to leave despite what he said a couple weeks back. The way players go about fixing that with the fans though is by performing to the standard we love them for. I remember the days of Gareth Barry wanting out, it didn't go the way he wanted but when he came back into the team he was as collosal as EVER. I might be wrong but in the end I didn't begrudge him of going to Man City where he ultimately won a Premier League title which is fitting of the player he was! Martinez was arguably one of our top 3 players of last season. And he alone is probably responsible for a lot of the points we amassed. If he leaves he leaves as a modern Villa great, if he stays then there's nobody better for us between the sticks. #AVFC
Ben Jones@BJonesFootball

"He has been one of Villa's best players in the last 12 months. I'd keep him for one more year because on his day he's one of the best keepers in the world" My thoughts on why #AVFC need to keep Emi Martinez this summer.

@justonemorematt @FoxyN77 Solid point that ..let them keep throwing the big bucks and failing , maybe it’s helping with the Villa’s and Newcastle’s etc keeping stable squads

@FoxyN77 Not convinced it's helping anyone except the selling clubs though - how many of these players are actually going on to thrive? 1 in 5? It absolutely poleaxed Newcastle last summer - £100m on Wissa and Elanga for absolutely nothing except financial restrictions.

Seeing another summer of revenue monster clubs hoovering up top talent from the rest of the league who are hamstrung by financial regulation is really depressing. #avfc

I’ve worked on #LoveIsland UK since Series 5, producing Series 5-10, before moving on to Love Island USA and Love Island Australia. I’m incredibly proud to have been part of a show that has become embedded in British culture. The twists, drama, and unforgettable cast members have created some of the best reality television of the last decade. But if we’re being honest, one issue has persisted for years: casting. Time and time again, Love Island UK has failed to truly reflect the diversity of modern Britain. Representation matters, and no group has been more consistently let down than Black women. Ironically, Black women have been some of the show’s most loyal supporters, driving conversations online, creating viral moments, and helping keep the show culturally relevant. Yet year after year, we continue to cast Black women alongside men who openly or implicitly don’t date Black women. The result is a cycle that viewers have watched repeatedly: rejection, exclusion, and disappointment. For young Black girls watching at home, that’s a damaging message. For audiences generally, it’s become predictable and exhausting. When I left after Series 10, things were improving. Contestants like Tyrique, Ella, Catherine, Whitney & previous series with Dami, Indiyah, Kai, Sanam, Kaz, Samira, Yewande and others helped create some of the show’s most memorable storylines. However, working on Love Island USA showed me how powerful genuine representation can be. Seeing contestants from different racial, cultural and ethnic backgrounds authentically connect created richer stories, stronger characters, and ultimately a bigger audience. My role on Love Island was in edit producing, not casting despite my vast experience in casting on other shows I raised concerns about casting throughout my time on the show. If Love Island UK wants to reverse its ratings decline, it needs to listen to viewers. Audiences are asking for fresher casting, more authentic representation, and a creative reset. If those changes don’t happen, I genuinely worry about the long-term future of a show that so many of us care deeply about. For the culture.

RATINGS! #LoveIsland kicked off last night with just 600k viewers on ITV2. It’s the lowest figure for the regular series since it began 10 years ago, down almost 50% on last year, and even lower than any launch of Big Brother on ITV2.

Sadly I am now expecting Morgan to leave and most likely in a matter of days, reading between the lines. I assume we will get as much as possible in the circumstances and that Villa have probably driven the process and told any club who have expressed an interest that offers need to be made by a certain date as we want to conclude the sale before the WC kicks off to avoid a long drawn out saga. Sad as it’s these fucking rules that will deny us a player made by Unai and Villa

Villa fans need to start realising the "expert" opinion doesn't matter Carragher not seeing Villa as rivals, is fine, they were wrong! Neville & Keane, 2 seasons running saying Villa will fade away, guess what.. they were wrong! Villa's results now speak for the club.

🚨 NEW: Villa have held discussions with a view to signing Bologna winger Jonathan Rowe, as recently as last month. Villa asked what the parameters of an agreement would look like. The Athletic can reveal other wide options that Villa have explored are Crysencio Summerville, who is likely to be more expensive than Rowe, & Karim Adeyemi. @J_Tanswell #avfc
