Too often tests designed for evaluative purposes become a thing that needs to be 'beaten' or 'passed'. We see so much stress - in students and parents - when the outcomes are low stakes and designed to help

- and smart assessments to identify exactly what parts have been missed so they can be targeted effectively. And before I hear "Not more testing", I don't mean tests and exams, I mean low-stakes evaluations to establish any gaps, so interventions are at their most valuable

Massively worried about what this might consist of ...gov.uk/government/new… As the sorts of example cited at this stage is simply more online learning. Opportunities to participate, interact, get outside and socialise will be needed as soon as safely possible -

True. For high stakes exams when fees are at a premium. Not for low stakes internal examinations - universities I think are trying to 'reduce the stakes' a little with regular lower stakes tests using this tech. A positive way forward for some.
