@emmerdale 💔 Heartbreaking
Can I just point out recently on @emmerdale a lot of deaths / actors leaving have something in common; started with Rishi (dead), Priya (left), Patrick Charles’s dad (dead), Ethan (dead), Sunny (left), Amrit (left), Nate (dead?), Suzy (dead), Leyla (dead).
@Essexbird19@MartinSLewis We earn similar amount a but it’s all in one joint account, hubby has no idea about anything financial other than he gets paid and I tell him when to stop spending! The down side…I never have a surprise present 🤣
@MartinSLewis Hubby always learnt double what I did but we have joint accounts. He doesn't deal with anything, no idea what anything costs including the mortgage when we had it.
@JacquiDeevoy1 Please don’t demonise EOL care. Everybody dies and when the time comes I would hope we can make it as painless as possible 😕
Your friend needs to get Dr to explain the extent of the stroke so she fully understands the situation.
A friend’s mum is being euthanised right now. She had a stroke, was taken to hospital and instantly put on an end of life pathway and administered EOL drugs midazolam and morphine via a syringe driver.
The family have been called to the hospital after being told she’s about to die.
My friend asked the nurses to remove the syringe driver but they won’t: they say she’s going to die anyway and it’s better this way.
This is how they do it.
Cannot imagine how sad you gotta be to go and sit outside that church in sandringham waiting for the royal family to show up. ON CHRISTMAS DAY.
Go home. Get the dinner ready. Open your presents. There must be something else you can do 😭
I make no apologies for saying that an annual £100 million cost for translation/interpretation across the NHS is an outrageous waste.
Use AI, or provide your own translator.
Expecting English to be the spoken language in English hospitals is not an unreasonable position.
@ProfKarolSikora I agree. But they should be in smoking areas. This is my local hospital. Smoking shelter (red), the main entrance (green). Yet people still stand right in the door way smoking. Just go round the bloody corner!
Remember working with a PA who was so confident in their ability that they’d come to me with a medication chart already filled in with a sneer on their face prompting for a signature.
Then I pick up the Ramipril on the medication chart in this chap with a stonking AKI.
@lisa148049 As a nurse I’ve spent too much of my own time “developing” and doing extra education/degrees etc which have got me more work but no more pay!!!
Why are trusts SO SCARED of NRNs mentioning wanting to develop?
Imagine telling someone that wanting to develop is a bad thing.
Fact is we’re also supposed to do continuous professional development as part of revalidation so trusts should be supporting that not stifling it.
@CounsellingSam Aw I was grief stricken when my daughter went. She went during covid and then we couldn’t visit her and vice versa.
I likened it to when she started primary school…I didn’t stop crying, she had the time of her life 😂
@LauraPAuthor@Tesco Had the same conversation recently about coleslaw and dips as I fought my way through metres of clingfilm trying to tear a small piece off!
I'm so baffled about @Tesco removing the plastic lid from hummus and replacing it with a flimsy plastic cover which requires me to now cover it with clingfilm or similar. How is that helping anyone?
@susiesbookrevs Pictures of family, command hooks and blue tak so she can put up them up and personalise the room. We took a 3x2 cube storage unit too. Extra shelves and a place for TV
Talk to me about insuring your 17yo learner driver on your car, because my insurance company* is refusing to do so, and I am utterly bemused. As I said to the nice, helpful woman on the phone, 'surely this is not an unusual request?!'
