And the most magnificently savage dismantling of the Trump administration ever delivered in a language they almost certainly don’t speak. He covers Iran. He covers corruption. He covers the kind of staggering, industrial-scale incompetence that would get you fired from managing a car park. And he does it with the calm, unhurried certainty of a man who has read every page of the indictment and found it, if anything, worse than expected. France has never pretended to like these people. But this is contempt elevated to an art form. The kind of refined, aristocratic disdain that takes centuries of civilization to produce and approximately ninety seconds to deploy. They’re talking about “giving up Donbas” like it’s just a region on a map. That’s my home. The place I was born. The streets I know by heart. The people who raised me. The memories that didn’t disappear just because Russia decided to invade. And now the idea is simple: trade it away for “security guarantees.” There is nothing secure about abandoning your home. No deal, no pressure, no politician gets to decide that my home, our home, is expendable. Donbas is not a negotiation point. It’s where we come from. And we’re not giving it away. Period!

Today, 77 years ago, around 95,000 people were violently deported from Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania to Siberia in 1949. Many were small children and elderly, forced into freezing, damp cattle wagons. Just four years after World War II, while much of Europe lived in peace, Soviet terror continued behind the Iron Curtain. Same russian terror continues to this very day in Europe.
