Happy National Small Business Week! As someone who has built a small business, I know how much grit and hard work it takes to create a livelihood for yourself and your community. This week, we’re especially thankful for manufacturers like Atlanta Arms, a Georgia facility producing high-quality ammunition for our military, law enforcement, and sportsmen.

On this day in history in 1904, the United States acquired the rights to build the Panama Canal, creating a historic passage connecting the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. For centuries, ships had to sail the dangerous route around Cape Horn. The French tried to create the canal but lost thousands of workers to accidents and disease. America took over construction in 1904, completed the canal in 1914, and fully operated it until 1979, when President Jimmy Carter began transferring control to Panama.

Congratulations to Brooks David, a senior at Prince Avenue Christian School in Bogart, GA, on his appointment to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point! My district staff was proud to present him with a Certificate of Congressional Recognition, highlighting his outstanding accomplishments and impactful leadership in academics, athletics, and the performing arts.  Brooks will join the Class of 2030. Hooah!

On this day in history in 2011, brave U.S. forces raided the hideout of Osama bin Laden in Pakistan. At 1 a.m., 23 U.S. Navy SEALs in Black Hawk helicopters descended on the compound and killed Osama bin Laden and his adult son. His body was then taken by helicopter to Afghanistan for identification before being thrown into the Arabian Sea.

It was an honor to stand with my colleagues at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. My heart goes out to the families of the four officers Georgia lost in 2025. Please know I stand with you and will always back the blue.

On this day in 1931, President Herbert Hoover dedicated the Empire State Building, the world’s tallest skyscraper at the time. Built by American ingenuity, it put 3,400 hardworking men on the job every day during the Great Depression, providing steady jobs when work was hard to find. It held the title of the world’s tallest building until New York’s World Trade Center topped it in 1972.

I do not support giving blanket immunity to corporations at the expense of American families. Pesticides are linked to a 30% increase in childhood cancer and over 170 studies corroborate the evidence. This amendment ensures we stand on the side of the American people and the health of our nation, not corporate interests.

On this day in history in 1803, The United States and Napoleonic France conclude negotiations for the Louisiana Purchase. It was a massive land sale that doubled the size of America and comprised most of modern-day United States between the Mississippi and the Rocky Mountains. The purchase totaled $15 million which would be upwards of $400 million in today's dollars.

The Supreme Court just ruled that Democrats dividing Americans by race is no longer constitutional and you're blackpilling?
