@DiscussingFilm This isn't Resident Evil. This is a zombie movie adopting the Resident Evil title. You can't make all new characters and a story then slap the Resident Evil name on it and say it's Resident Evil.

@CarcinogenSDA I like how the Fallout show did the same here, 1 to 1 adapting a Resident Evil script would probably make for a pretty boring movie since most of the time is running around, solving puzzles, shooting things, and visiting magical boxes with a story being drip fed to you

an RE movie should never be a straight adaptation of a game. it should be its own unique in-universe side story. that's what made the first movie "pretty okay". game scripts DO NOT translate into film scripts well, at all. so Zach Cregger's version is on the right track.
