I raised a complaint to the senior manager after this incident. Later, the showroom owner himself called us and apologized politely for the salesman behavior. They assured us strict action would be taken immediately. They even requested us not to spread the matter further and offered ₹30k worth of accessories free of cost as a goodwill gesture. At least the owner understood that respecting customers matters more than one employee ego.

We went to buy a new family car today. Just requested the showroom to deliver it before 17 May because Malmas starts after that. And the salesman literally mocked us for following our traditions. He said: You people are educated yet still believe in these things? Thousands buy cars during Malmas too. Imagine insulting a customer just because he respects his culture. My father stayed calm and said: Being modern does not mean abandoning traditions. But the salesman kept arguing. So we cancelled the booking right there and took our money back. India is becoming so modern that now people feel ashamed of their own culture, festivals and beliefs. Respecting traditions is now called backwardness. This mentality is more dangerous than illiteracy.
