@restitutorII “Multipolar”? At sea, it’s simpler. Who controls Hormuz and Bab el-Mandeb controls the region. Everything else is narrative.

@cryptorover Hormuz isn’t a toll route. 👉 Transit is a right, not a service to charge for.

🇺🇸 STRAIT OF HORMUZ: Fox’s Marc Thiessen has a PLAN to fund the re-opening of the Strait of Hormuz. “Instead of Iran charging $2M per vessel going through the Strait, the U.S. will charge a $2M escort fee for every vessel'' That amounts to approximately $9 billion per month, or $100 billion in annual revenue. “We will waive that fee for any country that participates in the coalition to open up the Strait.”

@realgerhardtvdm In wartime, claims come first. Verification comes later. So far, no independent confirmation, no geolocated evidence, no imagery verified by reliable sources. Until then, this remains a narrative not a fact.

An oil spill triggered the seizure. But that’s the shift: 👉 environmental risk is becoming a trigger for enforcement at sea. Shadow fleet vessels are no longer just a liability. 👉 They are increasingly subject to action.
Visegrád 24@visegrad24

BREAKING: Swedish forces just boarded and seized the Russian shadow fleet oil tanker FLORA 1 following an oil spill off the Swedish coast. The old vessels of Russia’s shadow fleet aren’t just a threat to European security but also a growing environmental risk.

One ship passing doesn’t mean the Strait is open. It reflects something else: 👉 the role of naval presence in keeping routes accessible under pressure. France’s posture remains defensive focused on securing traffic, not escalating. 👉 At sea, access doesn’t come for free. It has to be maintained.

The key point: Impact at sea isn’t measured in people but in disruption.

🌦️#SeaCast Tropical Cyclone INDUSA-26 is expected to have low humanitarian impact (GDACS). Maximum winds reach ~169 km/h. 👉 At sea, that’s enough to disrupt operations: – route deviations – delays – increased risk for smaller vessels 👉 So what? Low humanitarian impact doesn’t mean low maritime impact.

@the_word_savant @IRanMediaco What I mean is that maritime access isn’t always binary. It’s often conditional depending on risk, coordination and political context. Hormuz is just one example of how this works in practice.

@Hairy_Nomad @IRanMediaco It’s not that simple. Hormuz is an international strait, not just national waters.Ships have a legal right to transit even if access can be restricted in practice. That’s where law and reality diverge at sea.

Open to all? Not exactly. “Reach an agreement” doesn’t mean the Strait is open. Recent reporting points to selective, case-by-case transit often limited to “non-hostile” vessels and prior coordination. Some ships pass. Others don’t. 👉 This is not free passage, but controlled access.
