@JoeTegtmeyer Shocking of all ppl Farzad can't see unbox line is strictly for no-steering cybercabs. More disturbing is the manner he is behaving, even if he is right. My first Tesla hero has....

Here is another datapoint for those who say the Cybercabs with steering wheels are meant to be used with passengers. I was fortunate to capture this image today with the door open of one of the new vehicles in the outbound lot. I cropped in and adjusted the lighting to show that the engineering kit to add the steering wheel and pedals requires portions of the dashboard to be removed in order for this kit to be added. There is not a completed dashboard or interior pieces to make this into a completed, production ready vehicle. It was never intended to be ... these are meant for testing only and this version is not the final production version that will carry passengers. Really! For a bit more added context, there are two "lines" to make different versions of the Cybercab. There is the main production line for final versions that will be used for passengers and these vehicles are noticeably different from those used for the engineering test versions. Once these are observed, it will be obvious ... There is a parallel line that is meant only to make these engineering versions with a modular kit that includes the Cybertruck steering wheel, accelerator and brake pedals. This kit is bolted in after removing a part of the dashboard. These vehicles are wrapped with a golden color on top on non molded-in-color body panels. There is a need for the engineering versions for some time to come as new locations are added to the areas where Robotaxi service will be deployed and this will be true for quite some time.

Westerners are so soft. Asians grew up in the trenches. In China, you can get laid off at any time. If it happens, you just pivot to another hustle. You teach kids until you find something better. If you get laid off from that, you work as a personal trainer in a gym until you find something better. If you get laid off from that, you live with your parents and work in a KTV bar and suck off some Singaporean corpo wagie dick. If you can't do that, you start an illegal fried rice stand at night. If you get busted for that, you suck off some Chinese corpo wagie dick. Life always goes on.

Kid graduated with a 3.9 GPA in CS and $167k in debt three weeks ago Been rejected from 623 entry-level positions Not ghosted. Actively rejected. With feedback. "Position filled by AI automation." "Role eliminated during digital transformation." "Headcount frozen pending workflow optimization." His algorithms professor said he was top 5% of his cohort His data structures final project got him a recommendation letter from the department head None of it matters because every company posting "entry-level software engineer" actually wants someone with 4+ years of AI prompt engineering experience The brutal part: he keeps getting auto-rejected by ATS systems built by the same companies that won't hire him His parents refinanced their house for his senior year tuition Last week he started learning how to drive for Uber The American dream just got automated out of existence and nobody in Congress gives a shit about $167k in debt that can't be discharged in bankruptcy His Stanford CS degree is now worth less than a CDL license

I didn't think I was smart. I just thought everyone else was slightly dumber. But I thought it would improve if I went to a better school. Entered a program for gifted kids. People are still dumb. Entered a top university. People are still dumb. Did internship at McKinsey/Goldman Sachs, who only recruit the top people from top unis. People are still dumb tho. Then came to X, and WOW, Director of research at Google Deepmind! Tech billionaires! Professor of Yale! Holy cow! This finally must be it. Hey wait a moment, everyone is just saying obvious things in unnecessarily long passages...

I didn’t think I was “smart” when my IQ was tested at 145 Nor when I scored a 760 on my GMAT Not until seeing Google executives several levels above me try to articulate why James Damore was wrong in writing his Diversity Memo did I realize I was the adult in the room

@Linahuaa Another lie! A Quarter Pounder-style burger (or any McDonald's item) is well within reach for the average Chinese person—far more so than in higher-wage countries where fast food feels pricier relative to some budgets.

Tesla is expected to release their Q1 production and delivery results tomorrow morning (April 2nd) before 9:30 AM ET. Wall Street is expecting a delivery number of 365,645, with @TroyTeslike at 375,000. Tesla will also release their Q1 energy storage deployment numbers. I'll report the results the moment they come out.

I have an intern from Singapore. I pay him $400 per month + $40 per hour for any extra tutoring (which he is more than happy to do) His job is to >film & edit clips for marketing purposes >assist other teachers and tutor occasionally himself >brainstorm for content ideas >accompany me to INS- a Shanghai mega club full of hot teenies that I feel too old for to visit alone He works ~4h per day. I told him to lock in and try to proactively contribute where ever he can (but it's also okay if he needs time to learn and get inspired) But I also told him that he should explore & enjoy Shanghai as much as possible, because he will never be this young, free and energetic again. Meanwhile, his class mates working in other Shanghai companies work so much, so hard, have so much stress, and are so lost that they don't even have any soul left to do anything after work. And they earn a flat $400 per month..

@Linahuaa @husafell_stone All things equal, it is hardworkingness, which you obviously don't have, that determines which is a superior culture. Sadness is walking out from one side to the other but later massively regret having done so.

Bro, that's what poor Chinese do because they're low on the Maslow pyramid. You'd do the same if your primary concern was getting food on the table. On the other hand- the rich Chinese working at Deepseek don't care about money anymore and grind out banger AI papers and open source tech for fun. What you're doing- pseudo-Nietzschean moaning isn't super admirable "culture" either, just sayin'

Americans hate AI. Chinese love AI. Americans are scared they lose their jobs and the government doesn't give a shit. Chinese trust their government will do sth about it. Americans are lazy to adopt new things and are afraid of falling behind. Chinese are always afraid of falling behind anyway, and they adopt new things all the time, so it makes no difference to them. Americans are special snowflakes and feel that AI stole their "work", like Tumblr fan-art, Reddit longform rants, or other intangible bullshit. Chinese are humble and know they get way more than they give to AI. American closed-AI is run by autistic sociopathic Jews who unintentionally alienate people whenever they speak. Chinese openai is run by people who don't talk much.
VraserX e/acc@VraserX

Most of the anti-AI panic is not really about safety. It is about status. People can tolerate new tools. What they cannot tolerate is becoming less special. 🙄

Based on the data I see, I think: - Anthropic🇺🇸/Google🇺🇸/OpenAI🇺🇸 all ~tied - Meta🇺🇸 / xAI🇺🇸 each ~7mo behind - Moonshot🇨🇳/- Deepseek🇨🇳 / zAI 🇨🇳 / Alibaba🇨🇳each ~9mo behind - Mistral🇫🇷 ~1.5 years behind - No other companies competitive
Ethan Mollick@emollick

Both xAI and Meta seem to be falling behind, based on the Grok 4.2 benchmarks and this reporting. Frontier AI models are really a three way race at this point.

There's not a single insightful thing Elon Musk has ever said. His actual genius is that he makes people believe he is a genius by rephrasing simple obvious statements into some kind of sci-fi technobabble. Like, instead of saying "Humans should settle other planets" he is saying: "We must make consciousness multiplanetary" Instead of saying: "We need more energy" he is saying: “The fundamental constraint of civilization is energy per capita.” Or "Toothbrushing is essentially disrupting bacterial colonies before they scale.” I mean, I don't want to take anything away from his actual achievements- he's one hell of an entrepreneur! But please give me ONE Elon Musk quote that ACTUALLY taught humanity something. You can't.
