hiring our first engineer. but read this first. i want someone who wants to build amistly with me. not work for me. amistly is the ai operator that runs marketing and distribution for founders. it's live, signups are rolling in, and now we build the real thing. the role: founding full-stack ai engineer -built and shipped real ai agents (llm orchestration, evals, integrations) -full stack, takes it end to end -moves fast, wants real ownership, not a task list i bring distribution and vision. you build the product. paid. remote. ground floor of something real. Comment below with your portfolio.

I wasted 4-5 months of my life. Not on parties. Not on Netflix. On FAANG prep. Grinding DSA every single day. While slowly letting my actual skills rot. Here's what nobody tells you about that obsession 🧵

Now I'm unlearning that. Good dev work is real work. Startups are real experience. Shipping is a real skill. The grind I did before FAANG prep? That was never worthless. I just stopped seeing it.

I had tied my entire self worth to one outcome. FAANG = successful No FAANG = nobody That's a dangerous equation. And I believed it completely.

And then I didn't get it. No FAANG offer. Months of grinding. And nothing. The worst part wasn't the rejection. It was realizing I had quietly told myself that everything I built before — didn't matter.

For 4-5 months I did nothing but: → Leetcode → System design videos → Mock interviews → More Leetcode My dev skills? Paused. My projects? Abandoned. My confidence in what I was actually good at? Gone.

I was a good developer. Shipping features. Solving real problems. Actually building things people used. But I convinced myself — "Startup work doesn't count. It's not real success." So I stopped caring about it. Big mistake.
