It was a real pleasure to welcome Ottawa Police Chief Eric Stubbs as my guest at the Mayor’s Breakfast this morning. Thank you, Chief Stubbs, for your time, your leadership, and your incredible service to our city. There is nothing more important than the safety of our residents. No matter where you live in Ottawa, you deserve to feel safe when you're downtown or in the ByWard Market. I was pleased to hear @OttawaPolice Chief Eric Stubbs' announcement yesterday that the number of officers serving downtown will increase starting May 1. At yesterday's OBOT @obj_news Mayor's Breakfast, Chief Stubbs shared plans to add 14 officers to the downtown neighbourhood resource team to take a proactive approach to community safety. This responds to concerns expressed by residents, tourists, and business owners. And it's important to note this doesn't remove officers from other neighbourhoods in the city. J'ai apprécié l'annonce faite hier par le chef de police Eric Stubbs, selon laquelle le nombre d'agents en service au centre-ville augmentera à compter du 1er mai. Lors du petit-déjeuner du maire hier, le chef Stubbs a fait part de son intention d’ajouter 14 agents à l’équipe de ressources de quartier du centre-ville afin d’adopter une approche proactive en matière de sécurité communautaire. Cette mesure répond aux préoccupations exprimées par les résidents, les touristes et les commerçants. Cela n’entraîne pas le retrait d’agents d’autres quartiers de la ville. Dans le cadre du nouveau modèle de police de quartier, nous renforçons la présence policière dans tous les quartiers d’Ottawa.

I have been down bad depressed but this AM I walked, meditated, & showered. doesn’t seem like much but those of you who also struggle with depression will get me—massive victory. feeling human again.

To all of you who celebrated #Fathersday without your dad, sending hugs. My dad’s battle with #Alzheimers ended on Thursday. He was 85 and while I’m grateful he’s no longer suffering, his death has hit hard. To those whose dads are still here, give them an extra hug.
