I was scared to be fully fem, because I knew it would cost me everything. But everything was lost anyway.

Earlier, my daughter said, "I can see grandma and grandpa in how you raised me, how you interact with me. It's like you're the best of grandma and grandpa wrapped up into one."
I just responded, "aww, thanks, honey. Love you" and off she went for the evening.
Then, it hit me. How lucky was I to have had both of my parents present for me, always supportive, available at any time, for anything... for 50 years?
I wish I hadn't taken that privilege for granted for as long as I did. Today, I'm feeling grateful... so grateful.
