OpenAI uncovered a China-linked campaign that tried to turn Americans against AI data centers by posing as regular people online. The posts focused on rising electricity demand, water use, and the impact of large data centers on local communities. OpenAI investigator Ben Nimmo said the campaign was “jumping onto the bandwagon of a genuine pre-existing domestic debate” rather than creating a new issue. According to OpenAI, the operation tried to “exploit and amplify existing public concerns” but showed little sign of impact. Nimmo said, “We didn’t see any signs that they succeeded.”

Asobo Studio has taken a firm stance against using generative AI in game development. Producer Eric Chort says the decision is deliberate, stressing that smaller teams do not need AI to create successful games. “We don’t use it; we don’t want to. It’s a choice,” The French studio, known for A Plague Tale: Innocence and A Plague Tale: Requiem, usually works with teams of 40 to 70 people. Instead of relying on AI tools, Asobo focuses on creativity, strong storytelling, and traditional development methods. According to Chort, the studio’s success comes from original ideas and a fully human-driven creative process.
