@delta_dc I’ve always found it interesting that people who oppose changing math instructional practices are often the same people who say, “I’m not a math person,” or “I hated math in school,” Students don’t need worksheets or timed tests, they need number sense and reasoning.

If timed math tests and endless worksheets of drill and practice worked, we’d be a country of mathematical geniuses. Instead, the majority of our populace openly proclaims their hatred/fear of math.

@ModestTeacher They hung a for sale sign, big enough to be seen from the road, from the roof of the school. Then posted it for sale with an accurate description on Craig’s List. Number of bathrooms, condition of the cooling/heating system. It was hilarious!

@manfay8 @TeachMrReed That’s actually not helpful. Stating your feelings and expressing your concerns isn’t necessarily complaining. It’s explaining the world as you are currently experiencing it. Thank you for expressing yourself Mr. Reed. I am struggling.

@TeachMrReed Everyone is struggling. It’s a pandemic. It’s unprecedented. You expect leaders to just know what to do? Everyone needs to realize that we are all doing our best. Have some patience, love and understanding for everyone. Be kind. Stop complaining. Do your part.

Checking in: The possibility of in-person learning is too dangerous and stressful to consider. It’s just not safe or reasonable. However, remote learning, as it exists now, is unsustainable. It needs to be modified... now. That being said, I AM STRUGGLING. What are you?
