I am still pissed about yesterday’s tasting menu. It’s just unacceptable to spend so much money and need to stop at McDonald’s on our drive back. Just ridiculous

BREAKING: MIT just completed the first brain scan study of ChatGPT users & the results are terrifying. Turns out, AI isn't making us more productive. It's making us cognitively bankrupt. Here's what 4 months of data revealed: (hint: we've been measuring productivity all wrong)

@BluthCapital Off by one day. But still I consider it a great call on the month end rally... down by just 1% for April

Be ready for a spike into the monthly close. Has happened ~4x last 12 months IIRC. $5597 is $SPX is "green month."

@ChrisSommers79 Exact custom views wasn't a possibility at least until a couple years ago. For regular screens, you can create bbg:// links that will open up Bloomberg. It's been a while since I did it and might have changed, but try something like bbg://TSLA US Eqty/ERN

Considering what the phone can do, it’s maddeningly frustrating to have to use the cursor on an I phone. It amazes me how bad the @Apple interface is when it comes to survey function/typing/spell check. And the lack of improvement over the years is equally maddening. Think about it, you have a touch screen phone and the cursor doesn’t simply go wherever you touch the screen. Why? And their spell check? Save me a titanium case and give me a spell check function that exceeds the grammar/spelling capability of a 5th grader🤬🤬

@rasbt The original author's argument is terrible. Data Science classes should be teaching how to build an environment prior to starting any project, skills to debug, and how to write efficient code. AKA Software Engineering skills. No surprise many DS struggle to write good code.

It’s a strength that many Python libraries are mostly not written in Python: it brings devs & users with different preferences together in a single ecosystem. The alternative is scientific computing being fragmented across C, Fortran, Rust & CUDA and users have to learn it all?
David Mimno@dmimno

There was a tweet yesterday about how major python libraries mostly aren't written in python, and it implied that this was something that should be fixed. I take it as revealed preference: experts don't like working in python. It's also a terrible language for beginners.

@dmimno Wrong take. Data Science classes should be teaching how to build an environment prior to starting any project, skills to debug, and how to write efficient code. AKA Software Engineering skills.
