My best friends are all female (with zero sexual intent).
They’ve all helped me see things and grow in ways I don’t think men could have.
(My boys are cool too. Just not the same.)

There’s actually a lot of reasons why a man would be just friends with a woman and “keep her around” without sexual intent. - she’s got a good insight on his personality/interests - she has valuable contributions to make on his hobbies/experiences - he respects her acumen and analysis on things - she is supportive and kind when he’s struggling - she helps him understand a female perspective on things If you don’t have female friends, you won’t understand this

My strong parenting opinion is, kids should come first.
But only sometimes.
It’s okay to do things for yourself.
Because that stuff will help you stay in a healthy mindset which, as it turns out, makes you a better, more involved, parent.

My super strong parenting opinion is that while the kids are awake, you come last. No spending all of Saturday golfing. That’s family time. 6 am tee time only, maybe. Wanna go to the gym? Go after the kids go to bed, or wake up at 5. In a few short years, they’ll be out of the house and you’ll have all the time in the world for your own stuff. It’s okay to come last for a while.

@ProfFinntastic I've lifted most for some time, ran at different times (London Marathon x 3, amongst alot of halves) but never thought about putting them together into an event.
I've done alot of obstacle races, I didnt find them challenging, just fun

@deadliftblue I like it better, yeah.
My favorite part is it challenges strength AND running. Since I consider myself more of a runner than a lifter, it forces me to improve both disciplines.
(Plus, training by running on compromised legs has really stepped up my fitness level.)
