What’s peoples experience in making a clam to @SAPowerNetworks for crop loss? Be handy if you this during autumn or early winter before a crop comes up. I bet @bigbushelsag was driving too.

Lachie Jones, I feel for you. With such ridiculous holding-the-ball rules these days by the AFL, that call was a 2 goal swing. The perfect goal-saving tackle, gets called a dangerous one. @AFL you’ve ruined the game. 👎

@Milliganreports @CharlotteKing88 Interesting to see if it’s actually linked, I’m dubious. We farm in one of longest continuous cropped areas with very long use and haven’t heard or know any uptick in Parkinson’s. The old boys who stood in the paddock for crop dusters would have been drenched in DDT.

Excellent work investigating possible links between the chemical paraquat and the devastating burden of Parkinson’s disease in farming communities, by Andy Burns, @CharlotteKing88 and the hard-working team at ABC Regional Investigations. abc.net.au/news/2024-08-3…

Loading a truck yesterday, the driver, an older bloke, introduced himself, "Gday mate, the name's Warren but call me Bluey." "No worries Bluey, where's that nickname from?" (Thinking a Blue Heeler dog...Winfield Blue cigarettes?) "Oh when I was younger, I had red hair, so me mates would call me Bluey"

ZeeRoo, so total cost was ~$31K which inc SA gov subsidy ($6K). I'm thankful for that, but do believe that market economics should stack up without a subsidy in the longer term. I think I'd pay the full amount if I had my time again; I'm very interested in solar/battery Tech (I use it daily in my work), and to not have the worry about bills or being without power is quite liberating.

Well.....just got my power bill. I have solar panels & all are working fine ATM (checked). It HAS been wet & cloudy for most of the last billing quarter. But. My solar credit this qtr amounted to $57. My panels will be up for replacement in about 2yrs. If this is any indication of my solar benefit, then quite simply, the panels will not be replaced. There simply wud be no real dollar benefit in doing so.

@tiredguineapig On the flip side, when you’re doing it tough there are people in your life with real care and compassion. They may not understand but still help unconditionally. These people stand out like beacons, such beautiful people.

Grading oats alongside Brookton hwy. fella pulls up and takes a couple of photos. I wander over to have a chat. Bring him over to machine to explain what we are doing. Now he’s off having a ride in the header. City folk interested in what’s happening in agriculture.

Had a bit of a fuck up with a sharp knife the other day cutting up bacon for oyster kilpatricks I was making. Sliced through the nail. It was bloody sharp.

@ipaddockapps We had similar issues with the same blue shoot Mic. Local welder whipped this one up for us. Attaches to the dolly with a couple R clips & works a treat. A few less headaches aswell.
