AUBREY TAU FOUNDATION CONDEMNS THE BRUTAL AND SENSLESS MURDER OF EMFULENI MUNICIPALITY FINANCE OFFICER, MARTHA MANI AND OFFERS R100 000 REWARD FOR SUCCESSFUL ARRESTS AND PROSECUTION The Aubrey Tau Foundation condemns the brutal and senseless killing of Emfuleni Municipality Finance Officer, Ms. Martha Mani on 30 March 2026. Ms. Martha Mani, a young courageous and fearless young woman who was going to turn forty (40) in September this year. Like many social media users, particularly on Twitter, now X, we saw how a. criminal snugged behind the unsuspecting Martha and pumped five (5) bullets. The brutality has not only sent shockwaves across but has instilled fear amongst finance and patriotic employees in municipalities across the country. Aubrey Tau, the Foundationโs Founder opined on the brutal killing of Ms Mani and said: โWhilst the circumstances surrounding Ms. Maniโs brutal murder are still being investigated by law enforcement authorities, and that it may allegedly be linked to possible tender irregularities and awarding in the Emfuleni Municipality, we are reminded of many other whistleblowers and courage South Africans who were also killed in their line of work for standing for the truth and South Africa: Babita Deokaran, Mpho Mafole, Marius van Der Merwe, Bouwer van Niekerk, Simnikiwe Mapani, Sarel May, Luzoko Ntlabezo, Andries Mqoqi, Cloete Murray, Thomas Murray, Tracy Brown, Sindiso Magaqa, Frans Mathipa, Armand Swart, Loyiso Nkohla, Ayob Mungalee, Charl Kinnear, David Khanda, Zanele Nkosi and many others whose murders are stark reminders that law enforcement ought to do much more to protect whistleblowers.โ The Aubrey Tau Foundation welcomes the recently introduced Protection of Whistleblowers Bill which was championed by Action SA and recently announced by the Minister of Justice, which aims and not only incentivizing whistleblowers but ensuring that law enforcement acts with alacrity in protecting whistleblowers. The Aubrey Tau Foundation offers a R100 000.00 (Fifty Thousand Rand) reward to any South African who may have credible, relevant and concrete information that may assist law enforcement to bring the murderers of Ms. Martha Mani to book.
