Although I’m not Catholic today, a friend who knew my heart was hurting invited me to spend an hour in prayer during adoration. I’ve had a lot weighing on me lately, and I’ve really been praying for God to show me what I’m supposed to do moving forward. I spent a lot of that time thinking about Dr. Rudman bringing up posts from a version of me that I’ve worked really hard to leave behind as I’ve tried to grow closer to Christ. There’s been a lot said about me lately. Things twisted, things assumed, things taken out of context. Anything that could be created, altered, fabricated, or used against me feels like it has been. But sitting there looking at the cross, I just kept thinking about Jesus and the cruelty He endured despite being perfect. And He still chose love. He still chose forgiveness. And honestly, I realized I don’t want bitterness in my heart. I don’t want to become hard because I’ve been hurt. This has hurt me. I won’t pretend it hasn’t. But grace changed me too, and I think sometimes we forget that every single one of us has a past, wounds, regrets, and messy chapters we wish people wouldn’t define us by forever. So Dr. Rudman, I forgive you. I truly do. And I’m going to try my best to love people the way God loves us, even when it’s hard. @doc_rudman #hugs #sincerity #grace #forgiveness #godslove
