Worlds apart, but now closer than ever 🇦🇺🇪🇺 Australia and Europe are taking our relationship to the next level with a once in a generation Free Trade Agreement and Security and Defence Partnership. More jobs. More security. More local products in global markets. And in an increasingly uncertain world, these relationships matter. Because when we work together, we’re stronger than ever.

🇺🇸🇪🇺Trump basically just gave 450 million Europeans an ultimatum: sign the $750 billion trade deal by March 26 or lose favorable access to U.S. LNG. Qatar's Ras Laffan LNG (17% of global capacity) is offline for 3–5 years after Iranian drone strikes, Russia’s pipeline gas is cut, and Norway is maxed out, leaving America as Europe's only scalable supplier. With LNG prices up 35–50% since Hormuz closed, this isn't impulsive... it's the most calculated energy play in U.S. history, using the crisis to force a massive trade win. Source: @shanaka86 CNBC

🇮🇷🇪🇺 LNG ships that were supposed to go to Europe are suddenly turning around… and heading to Asia. At least 11 tankers have changed course this month. Why? Because supply is tightening fast after the Strait of Hormuz disruption and issues at Qatar’s biggest LNG facility. So buyers are chasing higher prices… and Asia is winning. Even U.S. shipments are being rerouted mid-journey. One ship literally left for Europe and then flipped to Asia halfway through. Why this matters: Europe is losing access to energy in real time. And when supply gets tight, the highest bidder wins… not the closest ally. In today’s market, energy flows to whoever is willing to pay the most, not who needs it most. Source: @MarineTraffic

@craigkellyAFEE What are you thoughts on this Craig, are we not an Ally of the US? x.com/kajakallas/sta…

Australia and Europe may be oceans apart, but our security is inseparable. Signing this new Security and Defence Partnership with @SenatorWong and @RichardMarlesMP is a strategic investment in Europe’s and Australia’s joint security. Together, we will hold joint exercises, share information, build resilience against cyber and hybrid threats, and deepen cooperation from crisis response to maritime security.

Craig Kelly:🇦🇺Foundation for Economic Education
URSLA’S CONJOB Chair of the Australia–EU Red Meat Market Access Taskforce, Andrew McDonald, said the sector has been profoundly let down by the outcome, described by the industry group as the “worst ever free trade agreement for Australian red meat industry to date.” “The Australian red meat industry has been crystal clear that the FTA negotiations were the ideal mechanism to finally address the EU’s punitive and highly discriminatory import regime. “Yet the agreement delivers just 30,600 tonnes carcase weight (cwt) of beef access over the next 10 years, when a minimum of 50,000 tonnes (cwt) was required simply to be in line with what the EU has offered our competitors,” he said. “On sheep meat and goat meat, the result is equally disappointing: 25,000 tonnes (cwt) over seven years, despite Australian industry requesting a minimum of 67,000 tonnes cwt. This stands in stark contrast to New Zealand’s access of 163,769 tonnes, which is an outrageous discrepancy,” Mr McDonald said. “To land a deal so far below what other suppliers have secured is genuinely bewildering. “The agreement is a long way from anything resembling ‘free and fair trade’, particularly given Australia already provides the EU with quota‑and tariff‑free access for meat products like pork, while the A‑EU FTA locks in perpetual volume constraints on Australian red meat entering the EU.” The taskforce said the Federal Government has badly let the sector down, signing an extremely disappointing free trade deal with the European Union that falls far short of what Australia needed and expected. sheepcentral.com/eu-sheep-meat-…

@razorback11111 I wonder what El Trumpo thinks of this ….. if the agenda stands nothing will be said. If there is no such thing, the last thing he would want is this agreement with the EU - we are an ally after all 🧐 @PapiTrumpo @realDonaldTrump

@Only185797372 I agree 100% I feel this is the point of communion (marriage/partnership) and why it’s so important to find that one person you can be who you truly are with. The depth of our souls is sacred, we have all lost our way in the superficial/materialism of it all.

@MowafyYous56637 @ElenaRae644820 I don’t believe it’s stepping away from thought either, it’s actually the opposite. It’s thought/discernment that chooses to surrender, to surrender to the absence ☯️

@ElenaRae644820 Surrender sounds elegant—but it’s incomplete. If we step away from thought, how do we decide when without using it? Not all overthinking blocks clarity, and not all surrender is wisdom—sometimes it’s just avoidance. The real skill isn’t surrender… it’s discernment.

Surrender is often misunderstood as passive. It isn’t. In practice, surrender is an active decision— the conscious release of the impulse to solve everything through thought alone. It arises from recognition: that overthinking does not create clarity, it interrupts it. There is a deeper intelligence at work— one that operates beneath deliberate thought, through pattern recognition, integration, and silent processing. What we call emptiness is not absence, but a functional state— a clearing in which this intelligence can operate without interference. To surrender, then, is not to give up. It is to step aside at the right moment. Not because nothing is happening— but because something more efficient already is. When we trust this process, we stop wasting energy forcing solutions, and begin directing that energy into action— into what can actually be done, built, or given. Surrender is not the absence of agency. It is the refinement of it. —— Painting: “Transience" By artist Toni Carmine Salerno
