Last year, MongoDB did a good number of SDR internal promotions to AE but also hired a ton of external AEs. Almost all of the internal AEs are crushing it and well-loved by their account teams. Almost all of the external hires have gotten PIP'd or left the company. Those forged in the fire of SDR purgatory tend to do well as AEs in the same org. Also it takes a long time to learn the different products and tools and politics, etc.

Still struggle to understand how SDRs struggle to build qualified pipeline when you can one shot prompt your exact ICP in full detail including sales signals trigger events and receive a list of 100s if not 1000s of accounts and contacts that match inside Exa then use tools like PlusVibe to send out 2k emails per day with personalized messaging based on said signals and triggers and while that’s being sent out from warmed inboxes automatically utilize parallel dialer Trellus to make 100 dials per hour. All for under like $300/month. Genuinely blows my mind time and time again. How can you fail in 2026?

Full stack listed in reply - I’m sure there are tools we are not aware of that have marginal improvements. The cost:value ratio is the primary focus for the individual sales rep making their own investment into their tools If u can find better tools at a lower cost lmk im open to feedback

@FidelCacheFlow I don’t ask this question aggressively , but how confident are you that this tech stack for SDRs is the best? Is this something where you’ve just found it works really well? Or have you tried pretty much all of them and found out this is for sure the best stack?

Received my territory for 2026 (in mid Jan) and boy am I pumped up. Here’s a glimpse into my book. -6 Tier 1’s -8 Tier 2’s -16 Tier 3’s And 5 strategic customers with whitespace potential. Glimpse into my Tier 1 strategy for 2026: -Google Alerts for each -Requesting 10-20 people on LinkedIn (followers, mutual connections, etc.) -If Public, adding their stock to my Stocks App. -Messaging people internally with mutual connections… do they know them? Any chance they can introduce? -Giving each account a dedicated deep research day (2 hours) - org chart, account plan, earnings reports, YouTube (understand what they do), scour news My goal with each of them: Within 1 month, book at least 1 conversation with each account. Can be an SDR, AE, marketing, product… I don’t care. My goal is to learn as much as possible about them, their existing initiatives, and start to build my POV. Then I’ll be ready to attack.

@FidelCacheFlow Unrelated and feel free to quote; What’s your take on top cities for tech sales? Obviously something like south Dakota not ideal and NYC is good but what options are solid?

All of this “AI is replacing SaaS” just makes me want to escape regular life even more. I just want to grind until I’m 40 then own laundry mats and car washes at this point

I grew an Instagram account to 100k followers, made a post about Jesus, and lost 5k followers. I just grew a different account to 100k (again) and made this video as a celebration. Christ is King.

I think I’ve heard more teachers transfer into tech sales than any other profession. Why is this? Anyone seen the same thing?
