After achieving a 2828 performance at the 2025 FIDE Grand Swiss, I had hoped 2026 would bring more invitations to top-level events. Unfortunately, despite reaching out to several organizers, no opportunities have materialized. As a result, I’ve been competing in open tournaments instead. Over the past 15 days, I played in both the Semana Santa Open and the Menorca Open, winning each with a score of 7.5/9. To tournament organizers: I remain very interested in participating in strong closed events or leagues, and I would greatly appreciate any invitations. Please feel free to get in touch.

Interesting that @EmilSutovsky says India and/or Uzbekistan could host. Means there is likely a legit proposal of half India, half Uzbek. Not a fan. Personally, would much rather see London (@TelegraphChess), Dusseldorf (@wr_chess), etc or even Singapore again (@kevingohwm)

In the coming week FIDE will be busy reviewing the options for the location. Dates are set at the end of November - first half of December. Question for the fans: Of course, India and/or Uzbekistan are two logical options. But if not there, where would you see it proper to be hosted?
