My problem with the "public health failures during COVID" discourse is primarily that it fails to foreground that this was a once-in-a-century pandemic that ripped through the entire world's population, slaughtered millions, and that it ...

Colorado opens North America’s largest wildlife overpass. Colorado has officially opened North America’s largest wildlife overpass, a major step forward in protecting both wildlife and drivers. Spanning roughly 200 feet (61 meters) wide and over 200 feet (64 meters) long, the massive structure crosses a busy six-lane section of Interstate 25. Covered with soil and native vegetation, the overpass is designed to blend seamlessly into the natural landscape, giving animals the feeling of crossing uninterrupted terrain rather than a highway. The crossing is expected to be used by elk, deer, bears, mountain lions, and other wildlife, allowing them to safely navigate over one of Colorado’s busiest highways, which carries more than 100,000 vehicles daily. Prior to construction, this stretch of road experienced approximately one wildlife-vehicle collision per day during peak migration seasons. Studies show that well-designed wildlife crossings, when paired with proper fencing, can reduce such accidents by up to 90%. This project demonstrates a powerful principle: instead of forcing wildlife to adapt to our roads, we can adapt the road to them — creating safer journeys for animals and humans alike.

Trump: "We have a thing called a war, or as they would rather say, a military operation. It's for legal reasons. Because as a military operation, I don't need any approvals. As a war you're supposed to get approval from Congress. Something like that. So I call it a military operation."

@Magnum_CK Hmmmm. Your inability to understand a very clear point…does not make it necessary for me to further explain the point to you. I really hope you used your journalism skills better when you were one.
