People have it to different degrees, and some people don’t do what they can and therefore allows and excuse this behavior by throwing up their hands and pointing at adhd because they don’t want to sacrifice what it takes to shift. However, not everyone, not by any means. There are definitely those of us, who have it for example due to sleep apnea and TBI. When I had proven in my life not to be like this, shifts happened but not in a progressive direction. I can’t tell you how hard I’ve been trying to set up all the systems it would require to change. For anything you want to shift or learn you need to be able to pay and hold attention, recall when ur brain doesn’t want to, and wrestle endless emotion and frustration that stems from guilt yet feeling like you hav no choice. Try to deal with that, while having even mild adhd, and combine that with not having the money/security/healthcare….it feels hopeless.
