People were defending the artists and the bakers who refused lgbt products. Suddenly when you're at the end of the stick it's a bad thing? This is the biggest hypocricy I've seen in my entire life.

Every artist has the right to pick and choose who they work with. They are not a large business that is legally required to sell and ensure no discrimination occurs. They can decline your commission for: -not wanting to draw gore -not wanting to draw nsfw -not wanting their art to be associated with certain ideals -not feeling comfortable enough with drawing a certain gender -not wanting to draw something political -not wanting to draw humans -not wanting to deal with a rude customer -because they just don't want to and they never have to tell you the reason. Anyone who makes a big deal over being rejected for art, shows me that they felt entitled to it. And I would never want to work with them either.

Look, AI is good. I use it. HOWEVER This just the tech version of that business owner who didnt want to make a cake for a gay couple. Yall applauded the man for not wanting to make it cus it went against his beliefs. Yet THE SAME TYPE OF PEOPLE are now demonizing artists who dont want to deal with ai at all. At least stick to SOME values.
Miia ♥@MiiaTzu

"Why are you doing a call out post?" Oh idk maybe because being declined over beliefs is just wrong - its artwork and your job. Learn to separate that stuff with your clients. I dont care if art requests gets declined - it happens. But this here was uncalled for.

AI is already normalized since a few years ago (this normalization has been happening since 2014 just fyi). That isn't the argument we're making. We're basically saying: "If we commission you, using an AI-generated image as a reference for what we would like, why does it matter? I am giving you money for your service." if you cannot understand that a lot of people using AI for concepts and then commissioning artists for a human-made sketch/drawing of the generated image, and then getting rejected because "You used AI so no lol" is a bad way to go about this... then you simply need to reflect on what the actual argument is about. Declining customers because the image being used as reference for what they want in the piece is AI-generated is not a good business practice. This is why more and more people have been turning to AI because online artists cannot let go of their egos.

@iiyashinya @GummTrip @sharnasaurus Where was the hypothetical when the anti-AI crowd has been crashing out over situations like this for years? Going as far as not only declining services based on viewpoints, but going as far as doxing and harassment campaigns. Y'all are delusional fr.

@TAGJake And I don't think any person with common sense believes that comparing software to a person and granting it rights is something to take into account Copying with a computer or with thousands of GPUs using probability is still copying

Remember, AI companies and their bootlickers will say things like "you can't protect a style" while using artists' work and names as "prompts"
Jon Lam #CreateDontScrape@JonLamArt

Midjourney developers caught discussing laundering, and creating a database of Artists (who have been dehumanized to styles) to train Midjourney off of. This has been submitted into evidence for the lawsuit. Prompt engineers, your “skills” are not yours #gid=1096178862" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d…

@TAGJake The law prohibits the use of both artists' names and their works; technical nuances are irrelevant. Calling them "mathematical vectors" as if they were something outside the realm of encoding and compression is a crude way of misleading some judges.

If you do not like me or my community, stay away from us. If I am using a new model like the Shadow model, do not be shocked when we call out things like top scars that have nothing to do with what literally Sonic is about. We aren't snowflakes, we're calling out things that taint stuff that are supposed to get us OUT of politics. Yet, you guys keep forcing that stuff onto us - it's actually ridiculous. It feels more like a message than anything else. People saying "turn it off" are missing the point entirely lol - they literally spent time to add that in - it doesn't change what is IN there.

@merisusheep @inkfycreates We clearly see the difference. We're just sick of people who reject potential clients/customers over dumb things. It's the anti-AI crowd who doesn't see the difference based on what I have seen.

@inkfycreates No artist is required to accept anyone's commission. And no artist should be made to feel bad. Agree. But at the same time here is someone who is using AI & wants to hire an actual artist. Despite having the abilty to generate it for free [many pro AI do not see the difference]-

@TheHaggard420 @kazueyyy @The_Other_Guy54 Honestly you'll rarely see a set with this design on the internet (looks really clean here ngl). This is actually a classic setup from WAY back in the day, and I feel nostalgic looking at it. What model did you use?

@kazueyyy @The_Other_Guy54 Let's test that theory. Find this set i placed my character in someplace else. Show me AI stole the set I designed with deeply specific and detailed prompts.

I can’t understand why this is even a debate, artists deserve to be paid and they put so much work into their art. Using AI is laziness. Can I always afford art or a new model? No. But do I save and support artists, or god forbid learn to draw?? Absolutely. There’s no excuses
Shamia😇😈@ShamiaLive

why are vtuber models so expensive? Artists are overpricing! Artist looking at the time spent on current model wip... Sometimes i remember the prices I charge, and I'm making like $2 an hour lmao (I'm sure this isnt all of it lmao since it's an update file of my model...)

I wish I had the time to sit down and learn. Though, I usually been downloading the episodes and downloading the translated scripts online. Usually from spanish to english subs while watching the japanese dub. It's better if you have the DVD because you can rip it and just have the script and run the episode through VLC media player with the subtitles inserted to avoid the bad translations/localizations.

'CASTLEVANIA' Netflix creator Samuel Deats says all creative industries deserve similar AI protection "Artists in Japan need to start making noise and speak out. The life's work of every artist in Japan has been stolen by tech companies to profit off of. Fight back. AI is theft"

Japan's Ministry of Justice has released draft AI guidelines stating that a person's voice is protected under existing law as part of their identity As one example, the guidance says using AI to recreate a voice actor's voice without permission to sing a song created by someone else, then monetizing it on social media, could constitute rights infringement Final guidelines are expected in August

Most artists think their work is mediocre and that is what motivates them to improve. Coders are no different. What are you even saying? Even novelists feel the same way. Even famous novelists have stated they wish they could rewrite their old stories or edit them because they thought it was bad, especially when they wrote those stories. None of these are mutually exclusive.

if programmers really thought their code was art and "beautiful", then more programmers would show others their code. almost nobody (including myself) thinks their code is art, most actual programmers fucking HATE the code they write.
Splonk@ColectiveSplonk

@k_eropi @KarlEmerald you don't get to pick and choose what forms of generative ai are fine, that's genuinely just insulting as fuck to people who make their living out of coding as an art medium. i'm like 90% sure you're only saying this specifically cuz it's a project you like
