@lithohlr First woman consultant urologist in East Midlands. Outstanding endourologist with pcnl in children . Great teacher and mentor to many including fellow consultants. Always wearing a smile and checking all is well with others . Difficult act to follow .

So sad that my dear friend Sharon Scriven is retiring tomorrow. She has been a truly inspirational stone surgeon as well as a teacher and mentor to many. She will be missed hugely by her patients who adore her, as well as all of us in Nottingham Urology. Best wishes Sharon!

The response to our announcement has been overwhelming, with an outpouring of support and love for the service. Many people, including current and former patients as well as senior leaders and stakeholders, have shared stories of their experiences with the service and how we have impacted on their health, careers and in many cases saved lives. On behalf of the team, we would like to thank everyone who has shown their support. It has meant so much to all of us. We will keep you updated via our website when we know more, but please know that even if we are relatively silent, there are significant amounts of work going on behind the scenes.

@ClareGerada @NHSPracHealth It is absolutely essential that @NHSPracHealth continue to offer help to secondary care doctors with significant mental health problems. In 2023 over 50% trainees in NFS had moderate levels of stress and 10% had high levels. Over 50# consultants at some stage ditto !

I feel very emotional as does @NHSPracHealth team for all the wonderful support we have received since Friday. I promise - it is helping. Thank you so much, especially those who have publicly declared they were our patients.
