BBBEE is apartheid. Trying to explain that it’s redress for past wrongdoing is a very small fig leaf argument. Attempting to sanitise it by cocooning it constitutional court consent won’t wash. A turd still stinks no matter who defecates it.

WATCH | President Cyril Ramaphosa firmly states that Black Economic Empowerment and Affirmative Action are here to stay, declaring that “those who say BEE and Affirmative Action must stop are just dreaming.”

Before the titles and before the recognition, there was a child with a dream. Every child has the right to imagine a future, where they are given a fair chance to try. On Human Rights Day, we are reminded that dreams alone are not enough. Let’s commit to protecting every child’s right to dream, by building systems that give them a fair chance. #HumanRightsDay #ChangingTheGameForGood #PitsoMosimane

@MbalulaFikile @kalliekriel You lying about not responding to @kalliekriel. Your level of disrespect to South Africans by call them car guards ones again shows that you and your party view people as dogs. You are a racist. If Kallie had to call you a car guard you will be crying racist on this app.

I usually don’t respond to lowlives like you @kalliekriel . You lied to those car guards and now they want to come back to South Africa because life is tough in the US. They suffering because of your lies. You peddle fake news about a white genocide and anyone with a basic IQ level knows you’re lying. Now you defending someone who was fighting against a free South Africa just like you were during apartheid.
Kallie Kriel@kalliekriel

This Fikile guy seems not to care about the country and its people. He is willing to promote his own and his party’s interests at the expense of all our compatriots. He will eat caviar while the poor suffer because of his stupidity.

@MbalulaFikile Strange because I'm sure most South Africans don't want anything to do with Iran. It seems the ANC loves Iran but not God fearing, peace loving South Africans.

We must make it clear to all whom we welcome in our beautiful country including the new US ambassador. That South Africa’s international relations policy will not be dictated to by anyone else but South Africans and their government. Threats of investors pulling out such as Amazon, Google, VISA and Microsoft are unfounded. These companies came to the G20 even though the Trump administration didn’t show up. US companies are confident in the South African economy as seen by Walmart recently entering the South African market. South Africa is open for business and is a safe destination for global companies to do business. We reiterate that South Africa believes in a multipolar world which respects international law and international institutions that support a system of multilateralism.

A powerful speech by @USAmbRSA Amb Bozell III at the Biznews conference today. He affirmed the hand of friendship to South Africa, and cited the magnitude of meaningful investment that already exist. He envisioned further growth and investment in the country. And also… He was direct on the glaring and obvious issues that South Africa face through government inefficiency and corruption. That is also a trademark of the Trump administration, to raise obvious and important issues that exist beneath the surface. He highlighted the many contradictions in the policies of the government of South Africa: BEE enriching the political elite, the non-sensible EWC legislation, imposing race laws that sucks companies dry, hurts businesses and resticts talented people from achieving their potential, etc. And - a very important reference to the continued singing of “Kill the Boer”, and our courts that allowed for that not to be deemed hate speech. He also cautioned that time is running out for a deal with the US. He was constructive and direct 👏👏 Great speech - hopefully government takes note of this solution-seeking approach.

@newslivesa Julius Malema was born in 1982, so he did not directly experience apartheid. His statements seem driven more by political friction and aggression than by personal trauma. This thing is racist.

Trump is acting like an international gangster. The Prime Minister has tried appeasing him for 12 months and has failed. It's time we finally stood up to him and united with our European allies to make him back down.
