Some fat guy named GRR Martin(he literally patterned his name after JRR Tolkien) thought that the hope and optimism expressed in the Lord of the rings, was naïve clap trap.
Wishing to surpass it, he began Game of Thrones as a book series to eclipse it.
It was only years later after having slogged to the first three books and becoming a fan of the HBO series, that I began to realize something.
Nihilism, which is a cancer to the human soul is interwoven throughout all of his work.
I find the dilemma that the series will never probably be completed as a perfect punctuation to his effort, which I now regard and highly negative fashion.
Hope will always Trump nihilism.
Tolkien’s work remains undefeated and Martin’s attempt to eclipse. It will be a mere footnote.
