@mark_slapinski All of this is false. Americans pay way less tax and hospitals are required to provide life saving treatment to everyone no matter what their status or finances.

People say Canadian healthcare is not free, because we pay taxes for it. But in America, people pay taxes and still have to pay for healthcare out of their pockets. And if they are broke, the hospital tells them to go die.

@omgsidewalks All that time off isn’t for the kids. It’s teachers unions trying to work as little as possible.

It’s really annoying that we realize children need a summer break and several vacations a year because they attend school, but we think it makes sense for adults to work 40 hours a week all year and probably get 2–3 weeks off in a whole year if you’re lucky.

Spirit’s collapse will change the visitor mix at Disney. Fewer budget travelers, fewer spontaneous trips, and less frequent visits. Cheap flights made Disney repeatable for price-sensitive guests/families. It becomes a rarer, more expensive, less accessible experience.

For 90 years, overtime has paid time-and-a-half. Prices of everything have gone up, but overtime has stayed the same.  It’s time to change that.  I’m writing a bill to make overtime pay twice your hourly wage.

my son had a cavity recently. took him to the dentist and they ended up pulling the tooth. the visit cost $2400. insurance only covered $250, so we’re left paying $2,150. i’m already paying $612/month for family health and dental insurance. yeah… something about this system doesn’t add up.

@james_xond Yet every place I go is packed. Restaurants, amusement parks, stores. Things are way better than they want you to think.

Living a normal life is quietly becoming unaffordable. The gas bill, groceries, even just getting around used to be simple. Now you’re wondering if you’ll even make it through the month. It’s honestly frustrating. Everything got more expensive at once, and we’re just supposed to act like it’s normal. And it doesn’t even feel local anymore, it feels like a worldwide trend. I really don’t know how people are affording to live right now.
