@creepercharge56 Both my brother and father said red. My father is just an idiot but my brother is good at maths and explained that if we somehow could run the test several times over, picking red would average the fewest deaths, which sounds clever but actually has nothing to do with anything.

@KyleJamesOlson @JayExci The thing this is missing is that it's not the ship you're trying to save, it's the people. And come to think of it, the ship isn't already sinking. Blue is just chilling out, and red is starting a leak and then leaving.

You're on a sinking ship, everyone has a choice to use the life-boats and get of safely, or attempt to bail out water and save the sinking ship.
The sinking ship can only be saved if at least 50% of the people stay.

@KyleJamesOlson @JayExci I'd argue the problem is already there. It's kind of like a fire has already broken out. Blue is choosing to turn on a sprinkler and if enough sprinklers are turned on, the fire is put out. Red is choosing to disable a sprinkler, glue every blue person to the ground and run away.

@KyleJamesOlson @JayExci yep. In my example, blue maps to not starting a fire. Red is starting a fire and everyone who starts a fire gets to live. If 100% chooses red, everyone lives. If 50% chooses blue, everyone lives. How is this even a little bit difficult.
