Interesting. So, the player who has been healthy scratched for 52 out of 79 games at his natural position of forward was deemed worthy to play defense for the first time in his life in the NHL. This is such a breathtakingly stupid decision. And don't tell me this game meant nothing--even though these players played like it meant nothing. Every game means something when you're trying to prove you can play in the NHL. But when the head coach and GM make jokey roster decisions, that sends the wrong message. I officially have zero confidence in Davidson and Blashill to turn this team around. (Full disclosure--I refused to watch a second of this game.)

The Blackhawks had time to call up another D from Rockford to replace Del Mastro, but they opted to give Lafferty the opportunity instead because he's familiar with the system, has been a good teammate all year and has played D before in college and world championships.

@NHL_Muse Two parts IF the puck was there still clean hit. Monster. SINCE it wasn’t there, it’s a penalty for interference and they got it right. Any additional calls would have been as a result of the play and not the hit itself which, can be argued as warranted etc
