🆕 Milestone for the region! IUCN ECARO has been designated as the official CBD Technical & Scientific Cooperation Support Centre for Central Asia, following the signing of a Host Agreement during SBI‑6 in Rome. 🇺🇳🤝 @UNBiodiversity Biodiversity “The Centre will operate as a demand‑driven mechanism connecting countries with expertise, innovation and targeted technical assistance,” said @OliverAvramoski , Director of IUCN ECARO. Astrid Schomaker welcomed the designation, stressing the importance of strong regional partnerships for implementing the KMGBF. 🌍 The Centre, hosted in Tashkent, will support cooperation across Central Asian countries, strengthening scientific exchange, technology transfer and capacity development. 🔗 More info: bit.ly/4aysz0M
