Older crime victims who received the Victim Improvement Package in a pilot study indicated that while they didn't know what CBT was initially, 'they found therapy empowering, gained confidence, liked the here and now and now approach, and benefited from writing things down.’

The Victim Improvement Package, published in 2013, is a manual of cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) that has been adapted to help older crime victims with symptoms of anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress that may happen after the event.
