I get to irritated when medical professionals use very discriminatory words. I was in Emergency when a Nurse was shouting on the phone that they brought one Penatzocine addict with gluteal ulcer, shame catch me for am, you cannot refer to your patient as a drug addict, you are stigmatizing them. I’ve even seen a Doctor that sent a consult and in it was I referring Mr John Doe who is a known Drug addict, Haba now…. The correct term is Person with Psychoactive substance use disorder Not Gluteal Ulcer due to Pentazocine addiction abeg abeg this is 2026 As a health personnel use the right terminology for your patients
