Thunderstorm risk for Tuesday pm I've kept the risk low because I have a feeling that whilst some weak convection is likely to bring a few hit and miss showers, the cap will prove too strong to allow those air parcels to soar to a height conducive to thunderstorm development

Parts of the UK are now officially in a heatwave 🥵 Eight locations across South East England have surpassed the necessary heatwave threshold temperature for three consecutive days

One day of good weather and everyone loses it.

Breaking: It now appears pendulum has shifted to Tuesday being hottest day of this heatwave rather than bank holiday Monday. They will both be very hot days the ECMWF gives 33C in capital on Monday and 34C on Tuesday. This is an unprecedented forecast for what is still spring. I would not rule out 35C (95F), it is so extreme maybe the June record from 1976 is not entirely safe.
