So nurses go on strike for a fair wage and safer NHS, the right lose their minds. We have nurses using food banks… the right don’t care. But when a farmer with land worth £Ms has an extra tax… the right protest. The irony of nurses are using food banks aye. Ok got it.

They nailed their colours to ending the winter fuel payment to save money.
They've not wiggle room & made it worse by continuing to stick with the Tory plan to give away £billions to foreign countries.

I'll probably lose a few followers, but I am right behind @UKLabour on the winter fuel policy. My mortgage increased by £200 p/m from Liz Truss fiasco. I don't have a triple lock pension increase to mitigate. State pension is up hundreds of £ a year. Energy bills dwn vs '23.

Considering a 40hr week on minimum wage is nearly £24k the current cut-off is way too low.
It's been disastrous for Labour & it should never have been a binary decision at the lower limit.

£11,343.81 and you get NO winter fuel payment.
The solution is easy.
Add it on to the state pension for pensioners on basic rate only & tax it.
The poorest pensioners will pay no tax up to £12,570.

All a poor pensioner has to earn to have their winter fuel payment taken away is a paltry £11,343.81.
They will have to choose to heat or eat.
Lack of either will kill them.
Starmer & Reeves should be placed under arrest for attempted murder.
