@Onthisdaywire Feel like even though we lost games that year, we always gave an excellent effort and never got blown away. Hopefully more of the same this year, signs are there so far but we can’t let one marginal loss ruin our momentum.

Been saying it for years, such an underrated player for us. Hasn’t looked out of place at 1 at all (I know it’s his natural position).

@_WireFans_ Good to watch but wrong call yesterday, not his fault. Horrible conditions out there an we knew that well in advance it was going to be the case. We have a 7 who absolutely loves those conditions sat at home. Was thrown in yesterday in a difficult game in horrible conditions

Final thing from me, Ewan Irwin had a poor second half but any half would struggle against that wind. Showed us what he could do in the first half, he’ll learn more from this than putting 60 on Cas. We need to stick with him…

@johnnywsports @dan_murphy68 Don’t know if it came across on TV but the wind was ridiculous, no half would have been able to kick against it.

@_WireFans_ @dan_murphy68 Looks like an outstanding product of your academy-prototypical size/athleticism for a half -just need to build a few more easy plays for the second half to get him going against tough opposition/conditions/situations.

@harrycritchley1 @Jamie198738 Yeah think we need a better balance, it does work in spells though, we were all over them for the majority of that first half. But when you jam in and leave a winger like Sivo 1v1 you’re asking for trouble.

Game was there to be won tonight, edge defence was poor, too many penalties conceded and Joe Philbin is crap.

@JNWoods07 If Thomas and Wood don’t come in next week I’ll really start to doubt Burgess, for me it’s such an obvious fix.

@_WireFans_ Fully agree,just getting through these 2 Leigh games is massive then suddenly everyone forgets about yesterday.Tough April coming up so we’ll really see what this team’s about.

Huge game now next week, we can’t slip into a downward spiral like last year. Hopefully see a different mentality, bring in Thomas and Wood for some fresh legs.

@dan_murphy68 I genuinely thought he defended pretty well given they targeted him, certainly wasn’t the problem in defence. Croft shouting in his face when he made a mistake was poor form, wish some of our lads would have got round him more.

Can’t quite believe the overreaction from our fans, worlds apart from the regular 30 point drubbings we were getting last year. So much to work on and arguably should have put them away in the first half, bring Wood and Thomas in and we’ll improve.

@_WireFans_ I’ll stand by my thoughts… today should have been a walkover. We’ve got the tools to go well. Today was typical weak wire mentality. We can’t keep accepting good efforts because of who we are.

@MikeyWire Not accepting it, but seen plenty on facebook writing off the season already. You are right poor second half, but ultimately they handled the conditions and played the half much better.

@_WireFans_ I don’t think it’s an overreaction to say we let them off today , that’s a poor Leeds team and we turned in a stinking 2nd half . Just because we were crap last year are we accepting close loses now ??
