@TerryGreat22 Proud of you. Every church has that disconnect. The difference is, real biblical Christianity means accepting you're flawed and humbling yourself before God. Mormonism teaches you can become a god. Don't let an institution stop your personal growth and faith.
@absurdiumcom As a recent ExMo, thanks for your post. I ask: did you feel a disconnect between what the Book of Mormon teaches and how the Church behaves? Example: giving to the poor, while the Church has proven to be greedy?
Every year I sit down with my mother to explain how to use her phone and every year Apple sends 750 engineers into their little labs underneath their demonic Cupertino crop circle to come up with new and exciting ways to confuse her
@whiterpp It’s an “ask me anything” thread about my life and the church. What did you want me to steer the conversation toward? Global supply chain logistics?
@LDSTiberius Neither. Mormonism is verifiably untrue. Challenge it and you’re met with passive aggression just like this. Text book narcissistic abuse. Thank you for the live demonstration.
@BenBird53920553 After leaving Mormonism I became Christian, but I first lost my faith completely. Took 10 years to figure out what it’s really all about.
@DrGusMcCrae Much better. They tell you you’ll never be happy without the church, you’ll be lost, damned, etc. Real abusive stuff. However, I found the opposite to be true and I encourage all with doubt to test that out for themselves.
@burrouit Never done a gay thing in my life. However when gay marriage first got legalized I shot wedding photos for a couple I know out of support. They don’t associate with me now because I voted for Trump. I let them fight their own battles these days.
@KingPepperJack I didn’t believe the Mormon prophet or BoM were divinely inspired. Now I know beyond a shadow of a doubt. Very abusive culture. Look no further than the Mormons replying to this AMA. They’re incredibly narcissistic, and I’m sure some of them are good people. I’m much happier now.
@Rultpwr@XCkyro Never got one. There’s this idea in the church that if you left it’s because you’re a sinner or something. I still live a very clean life style. I just know the church isn’t true.
@ggbackpackers I did. Saw the whole thing at the open house event, then they made me do baptisms for the dead at 14. Very clean in there, temple workers wore all white. Crazy baptismal font on the backs of 12 oxen, infinity mirror room, great and spacious building. Made me really uncomfortable.
@Faustzme 100%. Turns out when you teach people that black people are the mark of cane, and you’re gods chosen people, you start getting elitist and tribal about everything. Start virtue signaling hard to make up for your lack of real values. Had to deprogram that in myself.
