We're excited to announce Interop 2026 → goo.gle/4tujOxz This year's cross-browser effort focuses on many developer-favorite features like CSS anchor positioning, scroll-driven animations, and view transitions to make the web more consistent for everyone.

@cos4ni2s @CSSWeekly It's complimentary, really. Caniuse has all the nitty gritty details, Baseline is meant to be a simplified indicator. Essentially answering the question: Is it implemented in all major browsers? That's why caniuse.com is also showing the Baseline status of a feature.

I've been talking to quite a few developers lately, and I'm stunned at how many still have no idea what Baseline is. 🤷‍♂️ Are you aware of it? Do you use it when thinking about browser support?

I LOVE this …Chart of Shame on webstatus.dev/stats “Features missing in only one browser” 😍. Even lets you click on individual data points and see which features each browser is holding the Web back from. Hopefully it will motivate implementations of these features!

Does web.dev/baseline have a data feed showing the included CSS features?

We're so used to what a "hard navigation" is supposed to look like, it's hard to believe that it doesn't actually have to look or feel any different from a soft nav. This is a huge upgrade to the architecture of the web platform!

@Paul_Kinlan @LeaVerou @stubbornella We do publicize a large part of our devsat surveys in WebDX: github.com/web-platform-d… Snowballing is inevitable to a certain extent, but this is not convenience sampled, and you can see the breakdown in the appendix.

When working on chrome we did a study and found that very few devs (~2%?) don’t use frameworks. These devs are less likely to use any other tools, and most work alone. In other words: hobbyists and dabblers Frameworks are an integral part of the web platform.

@bramus @chriscoyier On a related note: It would be really cool if there were a Baseline Web API I could call and even cooler if there were a Web Component and/or embed I could drop into my content like the one you have in this post. I would start using those immediately.

Google released the web platform dashboard which shows all the new(ish) APIs of the open web and their support across browsers. A bit like MDN mixed with caniuse. Lovely stuff, but I remember Microsoft having a similar thing that fell into disarray soon… webstatus.dev
